DOES MR LIPINSKI , PRESIDENT OF THE MÉTIS NATION IN ONTARIO INTIMIDATED BY THE STRENGHT OF THE FRENCH & CREE MÉTIS LANGUAGE & MÉTIS CULTURE IN ONTARIO ?

With all respect to the individual, we must ask ourselves who is the Métis Nation of Ontario President Gary Lipinski and what is his position on the Métis cultural definition of a Métis Nation ? According to the United Nation definition a Nation is composed of people living on the same territory, sharing the same language and a same culture to make them distinct from others.

Is the Metis Nation of Ontario Gary Lipinski a Métis or a Countryborn Halfbreed ? Does Gary Lipinski have cultural ties to the Métis and French families of Ontario and Québec that father 100% of all the Métis west of the province of Québec .

Well we cannot denied that Gary Lipinski hails from Fort Frances, in northern Ontario, where he was born, raised and still currently resides with his wife and daughter. Yes President Lipinski's Halfbreed Countryborn roots go deep as his Polish ancestors were part of the group of Halfbreed who negotiated the "half-breed" adhesion to Treaty No.3.

President Lipinski comes from a long line of Polish Countryborn Halfbreed commercial fishermen and traditional resource users and continues today to practice the Halfbreed traditional way of life: hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends.

President Gary Lipinski have no ties to the Métis and French voyageurs that signed contract with the Companie du Nord Ouest and left from cities in the provinces of Québec to bring goods in the western prairies and to return with pelts .

Unfortunately not connected to Métis history and language and highly colonized to the English language, President Lipinski in support with the current President of the Métis National Council , Clement Chartier who no longer speaks his Mishif language , continue to say there are no Métis in Québec and certain area of Ontario mainly in the area where the Métis have preserved their Métis language and culture.

This profiling approach by the Metis National Council leaders based on language and stereotyped claim these Métis are too French and to closely connected to the Métis of Québec or eastern Canada. This kind of view of exclusion based of designated territory could tip the agenda in favor of recognitions once for all or at least star a major debate as to the possibility of a process of an ethnic cleansing of the Métis People of eastern Ontario and Québec by the Métis National Council and the Métis Nation of Ontario. This should be brought to the attention of the Human right commission, a position that no one I am sure want to find themselves in.

I think is time The Métis clarified to the Halfbreed Country-born the cultural, linguistic and historical difference between a Métis Nation and a Halfbreed Nation as distinct from each others just like the cultural and historical difference of the Nations who immigrated in Canada like the Caucasian English Nation, Polish Nation and French Nation, or like the Aboriginal Huron Wendat Nation in the province of Québec and a Cree Nation in Manitoba or Saskatchewan.

We can not longer ignore to recognize there is quite a distinct cultural linguistic and historical background making a great difference between a Métis Nation and a Halfbreed Nation in Canada and in the USA by its culture and its language.

The Québec and Northern Ontario Métis bashing must stop by the Country-born Halfbreed and the so colonized Métis from the west who no longer speak their Métis language. As for President Lipinski, who succeed to become the Leader of the Métis Nation of Ontario how should he be allowed by the Métis People to contemplate to run for the Presidency of the Métis National Council with is segregated and exclusive view on Métis and the Métis Nation cultural and historical background. President Lipinski is from the Country-born Halfbreed Nation demonstrating a limited knowledge of who are the Métis and an understanding of its true history.

It is time for the Métis people to say enough is enough and to re-empowered the Métis Nation to its true familial, social, cultural, linguistic, historical and political Métis identity and demand the Métis language be at the forefront of all the operation of the Métis National Council and Métis organizations across Canada.

The Métis bashing must stop by people of the Country born Halbreed Nation and by some so colonized western Métis assimilated to the English language who feel so intimidated by the eastern and western Métis language speakers who still use the Michif language in their daily life to communicate among themselves.

Politically and legally, the word Métis or Métis Nation can no longer be use by people claiming to be Métis and who want to remove the cultural, linguistic and historical french content in the word Métis to turn it as a generic legal term to be inclusive of all people of mixed Aboriginal ancestry similar to the word Indian to define First Nations. Are they doing this because it is difficult for them to define themselves of who they really are recognizing the Half-breed Nation is not included as a Nation in section 35 of the Canadian constitution but should be now under section 91-24 of the Canadian constitution of 1867? Beside, why their cultural and historical background is never brouth at the forefront or questionned like the Métis are ? Is it because they speak only English and that give them all the right to be Aboriginal people without cultural and historical demonstration ?

I think is time for the proud Country born Halfbreed Nation to whom its people always used English as their first language and never used French or Cree Michif. They must stand on their own with their own social, political, cultural, linguistic and historical definition of what is their distinct Country-born Halfbreed Nation, and to petition the Canadian government for their own distinct recognition.

All the Métis are waiting to see and to hear what is their distinct national language they use and what is their distinct culture which I am sure is so different form the Métis language , the French language and of course the English language .

Metis people have no ties to the English language and English culture and history. Métis people are from French and First Nation ancestors and this is what makes the Métis People so distinct. The Métis Nation is ours to be define even if many Métis people lost their Mishif language and assimilated to the English language without loosing their Métis connection .

It is now their turn to the Countryborn Halfbreed People to define themselves and their Nation according to who they are. Only then we will be able to respect each other and work side by side as two distinct Aboriginal Nations. We will have each others distinct languages, cultures and histories to develop and share.

Then none of them including President Lipinski will be intimidated by the French and Cree Michif language and culture. Him and the Country-born Halfbreed Nation will have an obligation to demonstrate to the Métis People who they are culturally without dressing themselves as Métis with what make the Métis people and their culture so distinct from them .

It is not for nothing Grant brought to the prairies a Blue infinity flag for the Métis who had interest with the French fur trading company and a red infinity flag for the Countryborn Half-breed who had interest with the English fur company.

Marci not marcee.
