Eastern Métis now protected under 91-24 have great difficulties to digest to be denied recognition by the Québec Government and worst when it comes from some Western Métis who became so colonized and so assimilated to the English culture and the English language and by Western Halfbreed Country-born who identified themselves as Métis with no cultural, linguistic and historic ties to the Métis but need it to be recognized as Aboriginal people in the Canadian constitution.

Everytime we use the word Halfbreed or Country born to define who were the people define as being of mixed English and Aboriginal ancestry people seem to become obfuscated claiming the word Halbreed is derogatory when in fact the Larousse and the Webster dictionary translation the word Métis to Halfbreed or vice versa. No other word is the English language is offered to them to identify who they are . If the Halfbreed Country born do not like this term use in their English language to define themselves according to the word commonly and daily used to define them in the language of their English ancestor it is up to them to find another word to define them. Obviously because of language specificity it cannot be the French word Metis as their culture do not derive from French and Aboriginal ancestry as Métis are disticnt peoples so his their Métis Nation.

Why then people are not obfuscated or claiming using the word Métis is derogatory when we use the word Halfbreed which have the same signification of the word Halfbreed but in French ? When is people will start realizing that Métis ar not Halbreed and Halfbreed are not Métis as they come from 2 distinct cultural linguistic and historical backgrounds making them so distinct of each others. More so, when are we going to see the Halbreed People stand up and define themselves and their Nation according to who they are culturally , socially historically and linguistically as a distinct aboriginal Nation of People as distinct as Mohawk and Cree and Métis .

Therefore the Métis of Québec déclare that this late Supreme Court decision is the corner stone of a new Métis era and a new beginning for the Eastern Métis in Canada. Anyone who refuse their recognition as Métis under section 91-24 of the Canadian constitution of 1867 will have to face a major Eastern Métis Cultural Rebellion, as such action will be perceived as a Métis ethnic cleansing.

May be it is time to bring this situation to the attention of the Human right commission, a position that no one I am sure want to find themselves in.
