If the Métis People of Canada want to built their Métis Nation, they must refuse the word Métis be used as a generic term to define all people of mixed ancestry under the canadian constitution . Now that all people with mixed ancestry can be recognized as Indian under section 91-24 it is imperative these people with mixed ancestry who are not culturally Métis give back to the Métis people their Métis Nation and develop their own .

Like all other word used to recognize distinct Aboriginal Nations , Métis is a distinct french word to define a vibrant distinct group of people that belong to a distinct Nation Métis that share a distinct french Métis language, culture and and family clans history. It is time the Métis people leave behind the identity paralysis the english language had left upon their colonial way of thinking and join the Métis cultural révolution.

First Nations when through this dilemma when they decide to re-empowered themselves to their own original culture and native languages to identified themselves and drop this generic term Indian used by the canadian government and started to define themselves as citizens of distinct First Nations with vibrant distinct languages , cultures and history and to raise their national connection leaving behind alsos the identity paralysis the english language had left upon their colonial way of thinking .

When the Métis will wake up to the use of their true French Métis language in western Canada , the upraising of true Métis Communities like St Laurent and recognixe their true Métis family clans connection, they will request from this so called Métis Nation under the Métis National Council an obligation to operate in the French Métis language and only then you will see the Manitoba Métis Fédération, the Metis Nation of Alberta , the Métis Nation of Ontario, The Métis Nations of British columbia, the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and of course the Métis National Council with the inclusion of the Métis Nation of Québec and the other eastern provinces, adopting an exclusive Métis language legislation for the protection of the Métis Language and culture for all Métis to form a strong Métis Nation across Canada.

Métis is not and will never be a word to be use like the generic word indian to include all people of mixed ancestry with different culture background and languages. Metis is a distinct Nation raised from French and First Nation ancestry only.
