The Eastern Wabanaki Confederacy could be again the most important Government to conduct the affairs and establish priorities in relation to the needs of Wabanaki people. That a Grand Council of the Wabanaki Confederacy be formed with all the Sachems and Sagamaws of each of the family clans that compose the Wabanaki Nations . Concomitant with the revitalization of Wabanaki cultural and linguistic heritage, this government could initiate action plans on three vital fronts:

a) assertion of all Wabanaki rights, including political sovereignty and actualization of the right to self-government upon which Wabanaki original jurisdiction prevail and treaties are built;

b) develop and implement new concepts in Wabanaki education which can bridge the gap between contemporary methods and those of the traditional past; and

c) reconstruction of social, political, educational, cultural, judicial, and economic institutions

Concentrate on Wabanaki efforts on economic problems and solutions by establishing ancillary institutions for research and development .

Ensure that the Eastern Wabankai Confederacy will be at the core of efforts to refine the sense of the word Wabanaki, so that all Wabanaki people can develop a unified identity in respect of their respective national idnetity.

Establish and maintain the principle that under their original jurisdiction all Wabanaki rights are inherent, and have not been abrogated and are not negotiable.

Create Wabanaki cultural and educational institutions, such as schools, school boards, universities, cultural centres, museums, colleges and businesses etc. associated with distinct Wabanaki linguistic Nations.

Examine the fundamental purpose of Wabanaki education in contemporary society and the role and function of Wabanaki institutions in the area of social rebuilding, as well as,psychological spiritual and cultural revitalization among Wabanaki people comparable to what can be available to other world Nations.

Asserting the principles and the identity of the Confederacy would require the written and oral use of Wabanaki languages at the political, administrative, communication and educational level.

Create services and support structures in all area, to address social, recreational, economic, educational, community developmental and judicial issues in all Wabanaki communities.

The Eastern Wabanaki Confederacy as it was stated would bring to access to the Wabanaki people a regime of Peace, and ensure their right to practice their customary laws as define by their original jurisdiction guaranteed in all treaties they make since the first International Treaty they made with foreigners that took place in Montréal in 1701.

If this is part of your aspiration view please identify your family clan Leader, Clan Mother and Elder and join all together the Eastern Wabanaki Confederacy Grand Council by contacting the following:
